Convert motorbike driver license to Thai in Bangkok, Thiland

Convert Foreign Motorbike License to Thai License - Bangkok

Convert your foreign motorbike license (licence, in UK spelling) to a Thai license in Bangkok. We prepare your documents, book your appointment and go to the DLT with you, so you finish in about 1.5 hours instead of losing a day to queues and rejected paperwork.

Fee: 3,000 THB.

Skip the wait. Book your DLT visit this week or next. Going through the process alone often means waiting months for an open slot, sometimes into December. We get you in fast.

No theory test and no practical test

When you convert through us, you do not sit a theory test or a practical test. Your foreign motorbike license takes their place. The eye and reaction tests are mandatory for every applicant, converting or not, and take a few minutes.

Who can convert

  • You hold a valid motorbike license from your home country, with motorbike entitlement on it. We ask for at least 6 months of validity remaining.
  • You hold a long-stay visa such as Non-Immigrant O or B. Tourist visas generally do not qualify.
  • You have an address on record with a TM30 and a Residence Certificate. We can arrange both if you do not have them yet.

Documents you need

  • Passport, original and copy
  • Valid visa
  • Your existing motorbike license
  • Residence Certificate, from Immigration or your embassy
  • TM30 confirmation of your registered address
  • Medical certificate, issued within 30 days
  • Passport-sized photos

If your license is not in English or Thai, it needs an official translation first. We can guide you on this.

How the visit works

  1. You send us photos of your documents. We check them and tell you what is missing before you travel.
  2. We book your slot, usually within the same week.
  3. We meet you at the DLT. Staff check your documents, you take the eye and reaction tests, and you pay the fee.
  4. You leave with a temporary 2-year Thai license, upgradable to a 5-year license later.

Where we go

Bangkok Transportation Office Area 3, 2479 Sukhumvit Road, Bang Chak. It is the DLT office we work with, close to our shop in On Nut.

Coming from Pattaya or Chonburi?

Clients from Pattaya, Chonburi and nearby areas come to Bangkok for one visit, 1 to 2 hours each way. We prepare everything by message first, so the trip happens once.

Also hold a car license?

Convert both together for 3,500 THB, or convert a car license and acquire a motorbike license together for 4,000 THB. See the motorbike and car conversion page.

Frequently asked questions

Does a car license let me convert to a motorbike license? No. A car license does not cover a motorbike in Thailand. You need a motorbike license from home to convert, or you can acquire one with the hybrid option above.

Will I have to ride a test course? No. Conversions through us involve no practical test and no theory test.

What if my motorbike license is close to expiring? We ask for at least 6 months of validity. With less than that, you would start from scratch with our Thai motorbike license service.

How do I know which TM30 and Residence Certificate I need? Read TM30 vs. Residence Certificate, or message us and we will tell you.
